What is the main research field of this center?
The center is primarily focused on the advanced “weak light imaging” technology of our university, including energy storage technology, energy harvesting techniques, smart healthcare and sensors, functional films and biomedical materials, AI algorithms, and intelligent detection.

What was the reason for establishing this center?
In 2018, Ming Chi University of Science and Technology was fortunate to receive funding from the Ministry of Education's "University of Science and Technology to Promote Deep Cultivation of Professional Technology R&D and Talent Training Program" (commonly known as "Small Deep Cultivation Program") with the theme of "Innovative Technology Applied to Biomedicine and Medical Device R&D". Building upon this, our university established the "Sustainable Intelligent Medical Electronics Research Center" and participated in the selection for the Ministry of Education's "Special Research Center for Higher Education Advanced Study Program" in 2023.

The center is a university-level research center based in Ming Chi University of Technology. It is led by the university principal and gathers experts from various fields within the university to collaboratively conduct research and technological development.

What is the structure of the center?
The center is led by one director (Professor Liu Zu-Hua, who also serves as the university principal) and is divided into five groups: Energy Storage Technology, Energy Harvesting Techniques, Smart Healthcare and Sensors, Functional Films and Biomedical Materials, and AI Algorithms and Intelligent Detection). Each group has one group leader, and there are several research personnel within each group.
 
Is the center’s equipment available for use by individuals from outside the university?
It is currently under consideration.

The center is located on the first floor of the Electronics Building of at Ming Chi University of Technology.
