In 2018, we were honored to receive a grant from the Ministry of Education (MOE) under the title of “Innovative Technology of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices. The program integrates faculty and researchers in fields such as Mechatronics, Materials, Green Energy, and Artificial Intelligence to work on the development of unique technologies in Ming Chi University of Technology. After five years of integration and refinement in technology commercialization, the program was further expanded to include international Ph.D. programs in “Innovative Technology of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices”, “Energy and Battery Technology”, and “Plasma and Thin Film Technologies”. Meanwhile, we establish the “Center for Smart Devices and Sustainable Energy” in 2023, in accordance with the “The Featured Areas Research Center Program” of the MOE. The team consists of 25 researchers and plans to nurture more than 35 master's degree and 2 Ph.D. graduates each year to contribute to relevant industries and research units, and to fulfill the responsibility of cultivating high-end professional talents required by the six core strategic industries in Taiwan.
We have derived five sectors of R&D technologies that can be incorporated with each other from our forward-looking technology "low light imaging", as follows:
This sector focuses on solid-state batteries and energy storage circuits. In the past five years, there were 8 NSC projects (only recognized as project director) with a total amount of NT$ 23.11791 million and 26 industry-academia cooperation projects (only recognized as project director) with a total amount of NT$ 22.446 million, including 25 investment projects with a total amount of NT$ 21.81 million and 4 technology transfer projects with a total amount of NT$ 5.525 million.
The sector focuses on the development of environmental energy harvesting technologies, including organic photovoltaics (OPVs), perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in vapor deposition and low-temperature roll-to-roll wet processes, and is committed to the technology transfer for potential products.
This sector focuses on the development of " photosensors", "gas sensors", "organic light-emitting diodes for cosmetic applications", "intelligent medical units", and "biomedical detection chips".
This sector focuses on the development of “Advanced Physical Deposition Technologies and Systems” and “Bone Biomaterials“.
This sector focuses on the development of “Smart Medical Programs", " Industrial AI Image Recognition“, and " AIoT Intelligent Inspection".
